I have maia 1.01 running on Suse 10.1, it’s actually running in a virtual machine, with a disk of 20 gigs, I have been running it for the last 3 months. But I have been keeping an eye on the disk space on the server, it’s currently sitting at 63% full and it has been a steady climb since I went production on it.

I thought that the quarantine purges would keep the disk space pretty stable, but I am just not sure when it’s going to do that, my sql dumps are at 386 megs right now.

Does anyone have an idea where all the disk would be getting sucked up? Or has it not hit the point where it will level off? I have about 300 users on it.

Here is my crontab

#Load new riles and stores into Maia database

30 4 * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/load-sa-rules.pl

#Train Spam Assassin

0 * * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/process-quarantine.pl --learn --report

#Take a snapshot of the stats at the start of every hour.

0 * * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/stats-snapshot.pl

#Purge mail that has not been confirmed

0 23 * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/expire-quarantine-cache.pl

#Send quarantine reminders

#0 15 * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/send-quarantine-reminders.pl

#Send quarantine Digests

0 15 * * * /var/spool/amavis/maia/scripts/send-quarantine-digests.pl

Thanks!

Try using the du command to track it down.

Probably in /var/lib/mysql/maia (or wherever your distro
stores the
database files).

How much space your database will take up (and when it will
"level off")
is determined mostly by how much mail you get, and how long
you keep it
in the quarantine and non-spam caches. How much mail you get
is
correlated with the number of users you have, but it also
depends on how
much mail those users typically get, which can vary from
site to site.
How long you keep it is determined from the main system
configuration
web page and what you set the expire time values to.

As a single data point, we have about 1200 on-site users,
and we expire
non-spam daily (after 1 day), and quarantined messages after
7 days, and
my database is about 4GB. YMMV.
