Server is 4.0.18.32.23 - client is 4.0.18.32.1 - I don't
believe though that this changed yesterday is t but I'm
happy to try to get the client up to that version as well.

My guess is that this is not the issue, as the other server
has no issues with timeouts, and as I mentioned in another
message, I get more than 100 messages a minute on that
server at times. I need to increase the logging on mysql
though - all I get in the log right now is that the server
started up
Thanks.
