In short; ignore it.
The long answer:
For the purposes of the stats page, that value comes from a
table in the
database that is not synced with the contents of the
database. I thought the
process-quarntine and expire scripts were supposed to
re-sync it, but I'm not
entirely positive. It's possible that there is a small bit
of database
corruption involved; an orphan row or two. It's not
dangerous, but then again,
the expire script is supposed to be cleaning that up too.
Are you running the maintenance scripts regularly?
I'm working on a rather large change in the stats area that
will change this
anyway; that value will instead be a total count of what how
Maia sorted things;
the actual count of items in the cache can be calculated
directly with a count
statement.
