Hi David,

It is possible that I misunderstand something but I used in
RC5 this
address to forward spam mails from users to teaching our
bayes and it
worked well! I asked reply or forward only, because I
remember in old RC5
adminhelp somewhere was a comment regarding to prefered way
to enable for
the script to capture the spams in correct format.

So I am finding this good feature again in 1.0.1 because it
was very easy
to use for users, who do not want to use the web interface
daily.

Forward? Reply? I don't think we're on the same page here.

A spamtrap address is one that has been seeded to be
harvested by
spammers, and any email that arrives in that email is known
to be
spam. It's not an address to forward spam emails to.

That was never the intended use for a spamtrap address. As
we've said before,
that introduces extra elements to the message which trains
your bayes in a
somewhat incorrect fashion.

I suppose it may work a little for bayes training, but the
bigger issue is
reporting. If you use a spamtrap in this manner, do NOT
report it to third
parties like spamcop, DCC, or razor, as it will be
misinterpreted as spam coming
from you.

- From the help file for RC5:

Spamtrap lets you tell Maia that all of the mail you receive
at all of the
addresses linked to this account is spam, because you don't
use these addresses
for any legitimate mail. These addresses are only used as
spam-bait for
automated address harvesters, and should only be advertised
in ways that human
beings will not mistake for a legitimate address. Use this
setting with
caution, and only if you know what you're doing--if you
activate this feature,
you will not receive any mail atany of the addresses linked
to this account,
since everything will be reported automatically as spam.

Notice that it describes the address as spam-bait.

I didn't see the whole thread this came from and that Robert
had
replied about this already;

could you show a log of sending email to spamtrapfornax.hu
 now that
you have created
spamtrapmail.fornax.hu ? IIRC, mail from fornax.hu
was being
rewritten to the mail.fornax.hu form, but you still need to
use the
first as the address you send to.
