What does this warning mean?

Whenever I confirm a non-spam that was misidentified as
spam, I get a 
PHP error box with the following warning

Warning net_smtp(Auth/SASL.php): failed to open stream: No
such file or 
directory /usr/share/pear/Net/SMTP.php 121 2006-11-18
10:23:52 (CST) 2 
Warning net_smtp(): Failed opening 'Auth/SASL.php' for
inclusion 
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:./libs:')
/usr/share/pear/Net/SMTP.php 121

There was a google hit but the page was dead (and in some
language other 
than english).

I'm pretty sure this is something simple and I'm probably
staring the 
answer straight in the face, but I'm missing something.

Hi,

  Try:

pear install Auth_SASL

in my experience on Ubuntu you have to do 'pear upgrade
pear' first....

Tried that already, but ended up with a seg fault.  Some
additional 
googling ended up with me doing this:

 pear install  XML_RPC
 pear upgrade  XML_RPC
 pear upgrade pear-1.3.6
 pear upgrade Archive_Tar
 pear upgrade pear
 pear upgrade-all
 pear install Auth_SASL
 
Now all is happy.

Thanks for the hint.  Upgrading pear helped.
