Digest mail - only in minute intervals?

There is a cron job that also controls the sending, so even
if they have it set to 1 it will only be sent if time is
>1 and the job as been run.

At least that is my understanding; I have ours set to go out
every weekday a 3 pm.

Hello, 

We have implemented maia for our 5000 users base and are
very happy users. I would like to start using the reminders
and digest system to optimize the catch rate of the spam
scanner and to give the users a possibility to recover false
positives. 

I can see every use can decide for him/herself if digest
mails are sent and in wich interval. I just know some of our
users will set this to "1" and then complain to me
that they receive a mail every minute.

Is there a settig in maia that will only send a digest if
there are newer mails since the last digest. Knowing that
the digest mail itself is also a mail, so counting inbox
mails and recording inbox mail count + 1 in the database?

Is such a system present, or should I limit sending digest
mails to one a week (not giving me or my users the
granularity we would love....)? 

This is a minor issue and I would like to thank all the
developers of the maia extension of amavisd-new for all the
efforts and time they have invested.
