Greets,
has anyone successfully set up Maia with Authentication
against a MS
Windows ADS?
>From the docs I see the possibility to use an external
auth-mechanism,
but I am unsure how this would look like in detail. Maybe
someone could
share knowledge with me ...
I have to defend the usage of Maia at a client's site,
people don't want
another Web-Iface with user/pw to log into. They logon to
the ADS every
day so this would be a way to make it work ...
Thanks, Stefan.

Active Directory is basically LDAP, which Maia already
supports. The
trick, as with any LDAP setup, is to get the connection
strings set
properly, which may take some trial and error.

Correctly.
;)
I am in the process of switching over right now, should go
live within
the next 24 hrs.
Another question:
If I switch from internal to ldap-auth, who is super-admin
then?
How do I *set* the superadmin with LDAP?
I assume this will include some SQL-action ?
And even one more:
How do I configure multiple addresses per user with LDAP?
Multiple "mail:"-attributes?
Thanks, Stefan.

It's still set the same way, ie, whichever row in maia_users
has a
type 'S' set. Maia still maintains its own list of users
in SQL, it
merely uses ldap to authenticate the username/password.
Before you switch auth types, login in with
login.php?super=unregister
and the after switching auth types, log in with
login.php?super=register

That's an upcoming feature, but for now, you have to
manually link
aliases with the admin interface

Understood, thanks for clarifying.
Gonna try tomorrow.

Upgraded that server to maia-1.0.2 today, that feature isn't
needed now,
but might be needed in near future.
Let's see.
Thx, Stefan.
