I’ve started getting spam leaking through Maia, but I’m not sure how to stop it. I say leaking because the items in question are not being run through SpamAssassin (and thus are not showing up in any of the Maia mail pages).

I looked at a couple of them and they all appear to have envelope names showing that they’;re coming from me. That’;s because my email address is on the Maia whitelist. I guess at some point I must’;ve rescued an item that I217;d posted to a mailing list, which caused my personal address to get whitelisted.

What’;s the correct way to deal with situations like that (i.e., mailing lists that I post to and get copies of messages from)? Is there a way to rescue an item from within the Maia web interface, but not have a corresponding whitelist rule created?

go to your settings and change: "Add senders of
rescued mail to your
whitelist?" to "No"
