message is being passed through and then removed from memory

What exactly will happen when I turn off caching of the
message-ID's?

Disabling the message cache is harmless, and should have no
visible
impact on your mail processing. It's just one less thing
for Maia to
have to store and manage. Message IDs will no longer be
cached at all,
so the 'db' subdirectory should no longer be used or
needed.

You'd only see a performance hit if you process a lot of
copies of the
same message, e.g. a mailing list or newsletter with a large
subscriber
list. Otherwise, virtually all the mail you process will be
assigned a
unique message ID anyway, so caching offers no benefit.

Uh-oh...blowfish.key can't be opened...

Running SLES 10 and Maia 1.0.2 here. I came in today and was going through my quarantine box and had to open up an e-mail to check to see if it's spam or not. When I click on the link, I get the error message: Can't open key file /var/spool/amavis/blowfish.key. The file is there and owned by root. I figure maybe the file got corrupted, so I replaced it with a backup that I made at the time of creating this file. Same error. Tried restarting amavisd and apache2 and even the server. Still get the error. Then I tried replacing it with the backup of the backup. Still get the same error. Tried replacing it with a copy of the key that I put on another server. Still the same error. All these backups were made when the key was working.

Any ideas what may have gone wrong and how I can go about getting it working again so I can check the e-mails?

Thanks in advance.
Howard
