I didn't start working on saving the cached HTML sources of
the wiki
pages until this afternoon (it was a busy day at work). The
main task I
think we have is to determine which pages have changed or
been added
since the December backup that was restored. I'm going
through Google
for everything that is in maiamailguard.com (minus the
tickets, since
those are being restored by a different means). Each time I
come up with
a "Not Found", then I know that that page was
added after the December
backup, and I save its source code. After I save all of the
source codes
for these pages, then I'll begin the process of reentering
them into the
wiki.
This process doesn't really include provisions for pages
that did exist
at the time of the December backup, but have changed since
then. Unless
I manually compared each page which is currently in the wiki
against
google's cache. However that process could be very tedious
and take a
long time.
If there is a global wiki change-log page, then I could see
whether
google or msn still have a cache of that page prior to the
crash. It
would need to list all of the changes that have taken place
"wiki-wide".
Something like that would allow me to see exactly which
pages have
changed, and need restored/updating. If anyone is aware of
this, please
let me know, and I'll be happy to use it to make sure we get
any changed
pages restored. I may not get a lot of work done tonight,
but I plan to
continue the process tomorrow in between other work. (I am
my own boss,
so this is ok
