Has anyone actually tried to use sa-update after installing
SpamAssassin
3.1.9? Unless there is something really strange with my
system, it
appears to be broken. sa-update comes from the same tarball
as the
spamassassin script and all the modules that it uses. I
checked to make
sure there are no other versions of spamassassin anywhere on
my system.

But when I run sa-update, I get:

Can't locate object method "finish" via package
"Mail::SpamAssassin::Timeout"
at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/Mail/SpamAssassin/PluginHandl
er.pm
line 187.

Anybody else seen this?

If I can't find a fix for this, I will have no recourse
other than to
try 3.2.1, but I have heard there are problems with this
version while
others have said it works for them.

AAAUUUGH! I get the same error with 3.2.1. Screwed, blued,
and tatooed.

Thanks to a little better Googling and our own David Morton,
I found
this:

I tried this, and it worked for me too. Thanks David!

That was an error with the docs for the fuzzyOCR plugin.
Look in
your *.pre files in /etc/mail/spamassassin, and remove the
load
module line for Mail::SpamAssassin::Timeout.   It's not a
plugin.
