Indeed. Then the second part of the problem must be we are
missing a
"generous user".

Hi,

I made some scripts a while ago to install (most of) Maia
on Ubuntu...
You can find them at http://www.dpsims.
com/~dpsims/maia
They aren't great, but like BP says: It's a start... If
anyone wants to
make them better, I would be happy to host the result...
See... I'm
generous... Ubuntu is
very much like Debian.... They both use the same
package manager... Also, there is a similar page of how to
setup a basic
commandline Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS server which (I think) makes a
nice platform
for Maia.... and the Ubuntu crowd has promised 'long term'
support for
this particular version....

I also spent a little time looking at making .deb packages
for those
items not on the Ununtu repository, but that looked like
quite a bit of
work for fleeting benefit... I think a scripted install is
the simplest...

There are some additional files that are not on the
website that I find
useful... like a working and configured postfix config (just
a .tgz
backup of a working server, an amavis-maia config that is
ready to go
along with the amavis init script for /etc/init.d, etc...

Regards,

Dave Sims
