proper way to delete a user from the database?
user name
2007-07-11 08:53:12
Hi,

We had a problem a few weeks ago with our
local_recipient_map in postfix
( long story! ) and as a result, we got about 10,000
spurious user
accounts autocreated in maia.

I know how to tell the good ones from the bad ones ( check
our ldap
directory ). That being said, what tables do I need to
delete from? I
think I know already, but I don't want to get in a jam and
miss one and
have a mess on my hands.

Thanks,

Aaron

Dump the addresses to a file, and then use:

maiadbtool.db --delete-from-file file

There are no modifications to the database structure in
1.0.2 (and future 1.0.x
releases), so I think it should work just fine. If you
want, look at the source
for that function and look at the SQL, and it will show what
tables are affected.
