auto-create doesn't send out welcome email

Ok.. I have autocreate mostly working, but it does not
appear to be sending
out welcome emails.  when I create the new user by hand it
works fine..
suggestions?

Make sure that the newuser.tpl file is readable by your
amavis/maia
user, and that you've set its (full) path properly on the
Admin->System
Configuration page.  Also, make sure that your downstream
mail server
accepts connections from both your amavisd-maia host and
your web server
host.
