Also, be sure your upstream MTA *REJECTS* invalid users
immediately -
if the address is not valid, it should give a 550 error and
close the
connection immediately. If you can, use sql or ldap maps
to
integrate with your backend system, otherwise look into
postfix's
"recipient address verification"
