If that user has a valid email address on your system that
shouldn't be 
a problem. How you grant that user access depends on what
type of 
authentication your maia installation uses (internal, pop3,
imap4 etc)
If it doesn't, and you're using internal auth you can just
create a user 
(and change the password manually).
