Hello,
Linking email addresses to a user account creates multiple
user accounts (at least that is what the Admin view shows). If you
link 3
email addresses, 3 duplicate user accounts are created in the admin web
site
making things very messy.
I'm surprised I just noticed this, actually. Maybe it isn't like this
in the Maia on MySQL world? I am using PostgreSQL (finally quite
happily).
many thanks,
CP

That doesn't sound right... for example, I have many
addresses linked
to my main account, mortonda dgrmm.net.
In the "Link E-mail Address/Alias" form, they all
show up in the "E-mail
address/alias:" section, but not in the "User
account:" section.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Nothing out of the ordinary here. All linked addresses
appear to be in
the correct areas. No extras.
However, I'm also not using PostgreSQL (MySQL here).

Speaking for the PostgreSQL side of the house ( sorry for
the long
quote, but it all seemed relevant ) I have ONE userid
showing with a
dozen or more e-mail addresses on this particular
installation.

It doesn't sound right, I agree. I also have many addresses from many
domains linked to my domain account and I don't see the duplicate users
for my aliases. I only have it with a certain set of domains (3 new
ones I just added). I'm playing around in a lab environment trying to
reproduce it now.

OK I've duplicated the issue.
I created two new domains (test1.com, test2.com) with three new users
(test1.com">test1 test1.com, test1.com">test2 test1.com, test1.com">test3 test1.com). Each user has
aliases for both domains (test1.com">test1 test1.com, alias: test2.com">test1 test2.com).
I logged in as test1.com">"test1 test1.com" which linked the main mail address to
the quarantine (test1.com">test1 test1.com). Then I used an admin account to add
test2.com">"test1 test2.com" as an alias to the test1.com">"test1 test1.com" account.
Now I see two users. test1.com">"test1 test1.com" is listed twice if you do a user
lookup on "*" and in the "User Account" selection window under "Link
E-mail address/alias".
This is new behavior, though I don't know what is causing it yet...

I think I have it narrowed down ... and made a ticket for

OK, and now I'm ready for some testing... seems to work
for me.

BTW, for anyone else wanting to test this, it was only
visible for
domain admins, but not a superuser.

Hey David,
OK I finally get the patch installed correctly (I was making dumb
mistakes.) It works perfectly. Thank you!
