Thread: Login from reminder email

Question: is there a variable I can insert into the
quarantine reminder
template to allow the user to log on with one click. This
is already done
with the digest messages where a user can click, say
"Release" and they will
be brought to a web page where they are already logged into
Maia. I see
that the digest uses a token of some sort - can the same be
done with the
simple quarantine reminders?

The backstory, if anyone's interested:
We're about to deploy Maia at a site to replace another
(expensive)
commercial application. That application sent out
quarantine reminders on a
regular basis, and there was a link in that reminder that
contained an
embedded ID which allowed the users to logon automatically
from that
message.

We've deployed Maia at other sites where the users were
content with the
stock reminder and digest templates. However, at this site,
we want to keep
the transition as seamless as possible to reduce end-user
whining...err...
complaints. I can tweak the template easily enough, but I
can't find a way
to allow them to log into their Maia page without having to
enter their
credentials. Yes, the client understands the security
ramifications, but
this is how they do it now.

We're going to convert them first so we have more control,
and then work on
bringing them more in-line with best practices.

As you say, the digests have a login link (not just the
release or
confirm). We could add it to the reminders, but really, the
reminders
seem wimpy compared to the digest... we've thought about
just dropping
them altogether in favor of the digest.

I haven't tested it yet, but look at the report_order in maia.conf,
you might even be able to remove all the sections and get a
"reminder"
message out of it.

I agree, the digests are far more useful. But the users at
this site are
very... touchy and we want to make this transition as
seamless as we can.
I'll play with the maia.conf file as you suggested and see
what I can do.

Thanks for the response.
