Auth with 2003 LDAP

I spent the last couple hours trying to figure out why I
couldn't get Maia
to authenticate off a 2003 DC with LDAP.  After some
troubleshooting, I
found that by manually setting $auth_ldap_version to 3 and
$auth_ldap_opt_referrals to 0 in auth.php, at around line
212, I could get
it to work.

I assume there's a better way, as it appears these variables
are supposed to
set themselves.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  This is
rev 1206 from
SVN.
