I fixed it finally...
When I started to install MM I didn't understand that
amavisd-new would
be so easily replaced by amavisd-maia, so I had worries
that
uninstalling amavisd-new (which one does not need to do as
it is simply
replaced) would remove the '/var/amavisd/' directory. So I
had used the
directory '/var/amavisd/'. So the issue was that in the conf
file
'/etc/amavisd.conf' that I use for Maia I had '$HOME'
defined as the
default '/var/amavisd' yet my templates and scripts were in
'/var/amavis/maia/'. Once I copied the '/var/amavis/maia/'
dir and its
subdirs over to '/var/amavisd/' location, set the
permissions, and fixed
my webfilter.conf in '/etc/httpd/conf.d/' it started to
work. I did have
one other issue, and that was that for some reason, the two
php files
starting with the word "virus" didn't copy into
the Maia directory on in
the web root for some reason. But that was easily fixed, esp
since
apache generated a nice 'can't find' error on those files.
It is all up and working and life is good
I thank everyone who assisted me in this endeavor, and look
forward to
new versions of Maia Mailguard!
