Endless loop problem with process-quarantine.pl

I seem to be having the same issue as someone had back in 2005 but, i looked and couldn't find out how the problem was resolved so I thought I would ask the experts. Here is the problem: When "process-quarantine.pl --debug all"  is run as the amavis user it starts an endless loop and displays the following: 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. 2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0 items. this continues until I kill it :( Now if I run "process-quarantine-sub.pl" it seems to run properly (processes all spam and ham) and then exits.
