I emailed Bruce about this and he confirms that we 
are both using Perl 5.8.8


Could this be the cause of the "Loop"?

Here is the problem:

    
When "process-quarantine.pl --debug 
    all"   is run as the amavis user it starts an endless loop and

this continues until I kill it :(

    
Now if I run "process-quarantine-sub.pl" it 
    seems to run properly (processes all spam and ham) and then 
    exits.

    
 

    
Any help is greatly appreciated as I am now 
    stuck processing the mail manually

I haven't heard of any problems... I'll load it up on a
gusty gibbon  
system and see what I get.

Stranger and stranger, but worth a check.

I ran my 
  expire-quarantine-cache.pl script for the first time yesterday and noticed 
  that process-quarantine.pl actually ran correctly last night.  I ran it 
  manually again today just to watch it, and sure enough, it seems to be running 
  fine now.

Perhaps there is something in the DB/Perl scripts that are 
  timing out or something on this version of Perl before expire is 
  run?
