I emailed Bruce about this and he confirms that we are both using Perl 5.8.8
Could this be the cause of the "Loop"?
Any way we can fix it?

I'm sorry - I'm having the same issue and was wondering if someone had a solution?

I seem to be having the same issue as someone had back in 2005 but, i looked and couldn't find out how
the problem was resolved so I thought I would ask the experts.
Here is the problem:
When "process-quarantine.pl --debug all"   is run as the amavis user it starts an endless loop and displays the following:

2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0  items.
2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0  items.

2008-02-24 21:19:33 Maia: [process-quarantine] Subroutine processed 0  items.

this continues until I kill it :(
Now if I run "process-quarantine-sub.pl" it seems to run properly (processes all spam and ham) and then exits.

Any help is greatly appreciated as I am now stuck processing the mail manually

Thank you very much for this great software!!

I haven't heard of any problems... I'll load it up on a
gusty gibbon
system and see what I get.

I tried this and I still get the loop :(
David said he is looking into this and I hope he can reproduce the error.

Stranger and stranger, but worth a check.

I ran my expire-quarantine-cache.pl script for the first time yesterday and noticed that process-quarantine.pl actually ran correctly last night.  I ran it manually again today just to watch it, and sure enough, it seems to be running fine now.

Perhaps there is something in the DB/Perl scripts that are timing out or something on this version of Perl before expire is run?
