Ah! Nope. Scratch that. It turns out the $file line was in
the configuration
file twice. So, I just removed the added one and edited the
old one and now
it works a charm.

I tried that and also got nothing. =/ I'm absolutely
stumped with this. I
don't understand why standard Amavisd-new would work just
fine and Maia
wouldn't be able to find the file(1) utility.
I had a similar problem before on one of my FBSD machines,
but that was
easily resolved by using the SVN version instead of the
"stable"... So, eh.
Clueless.
