If you have SpamAssassin installed on two different hosts,
you must
ensure that they're both using identical rules, otherwise
you'll see
different results. The SpamAssassin version must be the
same in each
case, and both hosts should have the exact same sets of
rules installed,
otherwise you'll see scoring discrepancies between them.
If you use
sa-update and/or RulesDuJour, make sure both hosts are
updated with as
little delay as possible between the updates. If you use
the Bayes
database feature of SpamAssassin, use the SQL-based storage
engine to
ensure that both of your hosts are accessing the same Bayes
database (as
opposed to separate Bayes databases being maintained on each
host, which
would result in different scoring). Finally, make sure that
if you have
any custom rules in your local.cf file or user_prefs (for
the
amavis/maia user), these should be copied to both hosts.
