Thanks, but that didn't do it. I had already found out about
the extra
slash and removed it earlier. I have made all the virtual
folders that
have any code in them applications, and I went through all
your numbered
points.
I though I had it solved earlier, but it was just a
different error
getting in the way.

Here's a few suggestions:
These were taken from the mse-user listserv and this summary
was posted
by Kaarigar. Many people have run into this issue.
"In IIS MMC,
1. Right click on MapServer and goto its properties dialog
box.
2. Click Virtual Directory Tab
3. In the locations field, make sure THERE IS NO TRAILING
BACKSLASH! If
there is, remove it and click Apply/OK/whatever to save the
changes. In
my case it looks like: C:Program
FilesMapServerEnterpriseWebExtensions
4. You may also want to check the properties of Default Web
Site
and do
the same to it as in 3 above if it has trailing backslash.
5. Right click MapViewerNet virtual directory and goto its
properties.
6. Goto Virtual Directory tab and make it an application if
it not
one
already.
7. Click on ASP.NET Folder.
8. Check the File Location Field. Make sure there's no extra
back-slash. If there is, remove MapViewerNet applicaiton and
recreate.
That should take care of it.
9. Generally check all the applications for where their
web.config
file
is pointed to, and look for offending back-slash, and try to
remove it
by the steps mentioned above.
I don't know from where the extra back-slash came from, I
didn't put it
there. Regardless, since this trailing backslash leads to a
situation
where web.config file is not found by IIS, it may silently
help solve
many yet to be discovered problems."
Also, note again that you must have the sample virtual
directory
configured as an application in IIS and that you must be
using .NET
version 2.0 for that application.

Subject: [Mse-users] Unable to load AwUnmanagedAPI.dll
I have read the messages I can find on this topic, but they
don't seem
to help me. I installed everything on a brand new install
of XP Pro SP2
with ASP.NET 2.0 (it never had 1.x installed). I can verify
that my
website is using version 2.0.x of ASP.Net. I have a bin
directory at:
C:Program
FilesMapServerEnterpriseWebExtensionsDotNetViewerSampleb
in
That contains AwDotNetApi.dll and AwUnmanagedApi.dll
The bin directory at:
C:Program
FilesMapServerEnterpriseWebExtensionsMapViewerNetbin
Also contains these two files, among others.
I know my virtual directories are set up properly - I can
browse to
test.htm and test.php files.
However, when I try to browse to:
http://localhost/mapserver/dotnetviewersample/
dwfviewersample.aspx
Or
http://localhost/mapserver/dotnetviewersample
/htmlviewersample.aspx
I get a big old "Unable to load DLL 'AwUnmanagedApi':
The specified
module could not be found." error. Any help would be
greaty
appreciated. I was hoping to show MSE to an audience of GIS
developers
Friday.
