Transferring wiki to another machine?

Is there a not insanely difficult way of transferring an
entire wiki 
from one machine to another?

* Make a database-dump (e.g. with mysqldumper)
* install DB and MW-Software on the new machine, change the
login of DB and 
server-directorys in localsettings.php; dont forget to copy
individuell skins 
and images-folders from your old server.

And keep your old machine running until new new works fine!

Thanks! There is already a small MW page set on the server
we're 
transferring to. Is it possible to simply import the
contents of the 
dump into that database? Name clashes between  old pages and
the newer 
pages are not a problem, the two sites use disjoint names.

No problem with keeping the old server running, the intent
is to modify 
some pages so we can then move them back over very quickly
by copying 
and pasting. The new server is just internal to the company.
