5232 FDA attacks natural cholesterol supplement

The FDA is trying to take away your access to yet another natural remedy: Red Yeast Rice. Check out this scam: Drug researchers biopirated the medicininal chemical found in the yeast, patented it and got FDA approval for it as a drug. The FDA then turned around the claimed that the yeast contained the drug! Thus, the yeast is being labeled "illegal" because it contains a drug chemical that is naturally found in the yeast in the first place!

It's kind of like patenting vitamin C as a drug, then banning oranges because they contain vitamin C. It's just the kind of health insanity we've all come to expect from the FDA.
