First Sull, thanks again for the feedback on the vidoeblogging homepage.

Below are my responses

some feedback...

pagination seems to be a bit wonky.

Yes, I noticed that. The pagination goes to like 12 pages as of this writing, but only the first 6 or so pages have videos... and the last six pages are blank except for a fake placeholder video ;

not all the videos are showing up in the mefeedia tag feed. it should be modified to include all posts, not just a current page or other limits. is their a url param i could add to include all videos?

The last 30 items are displayed, I have verified.  Normally this would be enough, but on occassions like this we need a parameter to increase the number of items displayed in the feed. ; Would suggest the parameter "show=30" or "items=30".

an option to watch videos without leaving this area would be useful.

I like to command click on videos in firefox... that way they start loading in background tabs while you continue scanning the list.

oddly enough, i dont see a link to http://mefeedia.com/tags/videobloggingweek2007/ on this page.

On every single video there is a tag "videobloggingweek2007" that links directly to that page.

Is there a need for something more?

i'd like to see more links to originating feed source. most seem to link to internal mefeedia feeds unless i look over to the 'who's participating9; block on this page. i'm not seeing it anywhere on mefeedia entry permalinks, which is amazing. am i just missing it?

It wouldn';t be to hard to add in that little orange icon to every post next to the rest of the actions. It's not extremely high priority, but it would be pretty easy... not of course we do have links to all feeds in the "who's participating" section... but I do see your point.  You can also click on the feed name under each post and on the feed page there's a very prominent link to the RSS feed.

The bigger question is where's the mefeedia "favorites" mechanism... we need to put that back in because i've got a brand new icon for it that's much more digg like.

the mefeedia tag feed is very primitive and doesnt contain rich metadata. this is very limiting. ie. when trying to follow a post to its proper original source url (to leave a comment etc).

we need thumbs, tags, and dates on items in our outgoing feeds among many other things... We're working on it, we're just spent the last month focusing on getting that data consistently INTO mefeedia... getting it out is the next step.

it would be nice to have source groupings so i can easily see all videos tagged videobloggingweek2007 from devlon or jaydedman etc. am i missing how i could do this somehwhere else on mefeedia?

hmm... you can click on the feed titles on each post and view more videos from that feed, but to tell you the truth all these tags are coming FROM the feeds... literally 99% of them anway. So that data you're requesting just doesn't exist at this point. We do have plans though to create something that will replace the friends homepage that I call the friend network... essentially it will show all the latest videos your mefeedia friends have posted, tagged, favorited or otherwise. I think that's maybe where you're going with this in the big picture?

i noticed the top "What is it?" header on this page breaks apart when the page width expands beyond the size of
the grey background's image size.

was actually in the process of working on it when you posted this... it fixed... if you see any other layout or background or graphic errors in any browser please do tell me.

Also, I rewrote the what is it? header... it should read much better now.

hope that helps.

Thanks SULL! ; that does help. It helps ALOT! ;  We love videoblogging week, but getting good feedback from vloggers is definitely another incentive.

I hope you otherwise found our tracking good? ;  Technoratti's tracking is interesting... but I'd like to know how you think we compare.

I noticed they only had 105 total posts as of an hour ago, and only about 30 video... whereas we have over 200 already.

So far so good.

Peace,

-Mike

great job slurping all the posts up!
