Multiple sites/blogs question

I've followed the instructions here:

But I think I'm missing something. When I create the second
site, with
it's section, I don't see it in the admin interface. I only
see the
initial section I created for the first site.

Do I have to use seperate subdomains per blog? Or could I
have
something like:

blog.domain.com/   => main blog
blog.domain.com/tom => user blog
.../joe => another user, etc

Is there a second path to use to admin the second site?

It looks kind of like multiple authors, but they each need
to have a
seperate blog name and so forth. Is this what the multiple
sites
feature should support? Or am I misunderstanding something
(well,
that's almost certainly the case...).

I'm using 0.6.1, btw. Should I go to edge? I need to push
into
production pretty soon though, so need some stability....

The only way I see how to use it is a separate sub-domain
for each
site.  So if www.mysite.com is site-1, with
www.mysite.com/admin for
admin; then the second could be something like
xyz.mysite.com with
xyz.mysite.com/admin.  Textdrive supports that sort of set
up my
default and it's easy to map domain names over the top. 
That's how I
have it (90%) working.

I'm on 0.6.1 too.  There are a couple of easy patches well
