Liquid error on the Article page

I have a new install of Mephisto from trunk (r3079); I've
got as far
as setting up the first post, but the Article page displays
the
following:

"Liquid error: undefined method `accept_comments?' for
nil:NilClass"

There's nothing in the log. I've looked around for
information on
this, but no matches. This post seems to be closely related,
but
Sven's workarounds have no effect on my installation:

are you running in development mode? could you try running
in
production mode and see if that happens as well ?
