how to turn off comments for an article from a particular section that is not a blog arti

Hi Guys,
I have a small liquid question. I am trying to set up
comments so that they 
are available for blog sections and not available for single
article 
mupltiple page sections. The problem I have is that I am
finding it difficult 
because when I click a link from a blog article it goes to a
single template 
layout and needs to display the comments and comment form
here. How do I set 
up my static pages so they don't show the comments as they
are also single 
pages. The home page can be differentiated as 'mode == page'
but single 
article, multiple page selections choosen from a section
want to display the 
same as single blog article selections. I considered trying
to use the 
section name as a condition for setting comments but I think
this is outside 
of the scope to work within say '_article_content.liquid'

any suggestions gratefully accepted!
