hAtom and Optimus

First time poster here. I am anxious to contribute what I
can.
Recently created my personal blog marked up in hAtom. When I
tried to
validate in Optimus:

I see an error that required property author not specified,
but I
thought I marked it up correctly as hCard:

This is my first implementation of hAtom, wanted to make
sure I got it
correct. Is Optimus a good tool for general validation of
microformats?
