Hi:
If any one out there would like to see a grate project using
the web I am
including the text of an ANNOUNCEMENT
Tactile Street Maps Workshop
Would you like to learn how to make free tactile street maps
of any location
in the country with no sighted assistance?
The Tactile Maps Automated Production (TMAP) web site is a
free tool that
allows you to quickly and easily make downloadable tactile
street maps
complete with Braille labels and produce them on your own
Braille embosser.
TMAP is a project of the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research
Institute in San
Francisco. Learn more about TMAP at
http://www.ski.org/tmap
The UC Berkeley Disabled Students' Program would like to
invite you to a
hands-on TMAP workshop. Meet the TMAP developers, learn to
use the tools,
and have tactile street maps of any location in the USA at
your fingertips
from now on.
When: Friday, February 17th, 2:00-5:00 PM. (RSVP)
