Good day,

I'm trying to use "yum update" on a linux server.
I keep on getting a
dependency failure:

Processing Dependency: /etc/clamd.d for package: amavisd-new
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: /etc/clamd.d is needed by package
amavisd-new

####

I'm a bit confused as both packages are installed and the
binaries
(and their location) look good.

What I've done in response is try to uninstall both binaries
(clamav*
and amavisd-new) to try to get them to recognize they are
"friends"
to no avail. Are there any guru's out there that can make a
suggestion? I've done "the Google" and found some
Japanese pages that
haven't helped.

Thank you,

David

/etc/clamd.d is a directory; a possible guess would be that
clamav changed the
location of where it keeps its files, so it no longer
creates that directory,
but amavisd-new is looking there for information about
clamd.

Try rpm -q -l clamav and see where it's putting stuff. You
might be able to
get it to work with a symbolic link.

Hey David,

Another issue you should probably check is what repos you
are getting
your rpms from. If you added something like atrpms or dag
in addition
extras, you may be getting the conflict from the way
different
packagers expect things to be installed. For instance,
maybe you have
the fedora extras version of clamav* and you are getting the
amavisd-new from another repo such as dag or atrpms (or
vice-versa).

Good luck,
