In IS&T we recently rolled this fix out to a mix of
about 200 Windows 2003 and 2000 servers based on information
that we collected from the following article:
http://support
.microsoft.com/kb/914387
Since the registry changes are the same for both Windows
2000 and 2003, we were able to lump the two together for
this "patch." Based on the article we ran a
scheduled program (using Microsoft's SMS) that launched the
following command script on each of our servers:
echo
off
regedit /s \someshare.ist.berkeley.eduTZupdate.reg
cscript \someshare.ist.berkeley.edurefreshTZinfo.vbs
I won't paste the contents of the registry hack and VBScript
here as they are lengthy but they are both contained in the
article above. After applying the fix in a series of three
nights (test, development, and finally production) we were
able to verify the changes were made correctly using the
tool that David linked earlier:

f/TZEDIT.exe
Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if campus's agreement with Microsoft
includes "Extended Hotfix Support" for Windows
2000?
Also, I'm going through Microsoft's detailed registry
modification for multiple networked computers, and am
wondering if others have done this, and what their
experiences were. I'd be interested in any other suggested
methods for pushing out registry changes. We have about an
equal mix of 2000 and XP in our domain. Thanks,
