I'm supporting someone who took the plunge and performed an
update install
of Vista Business over Win XP Pro SP2. Unfortunately, the
individual didn't
uninstall SCS first, so now he gets messages saying he
doesn't have
permission to modify the Symantec software. Add/Remove
program will not
remove SCS and he can update to Symantec AntiVirus 10.2
(Vista) because it
says Symantec Antivirus is already installed. I tried the
NoNav (early
adopters) tool on the CB site, but no luck.

Computer: Macbook 2GH, 2GB running Parallels VM set for
Vista (Vista install
looks OK except for this problem)

Any thoughts? I'm trying to avoid the manual uninstall
requiring all the
manual registry edits.

Sorry for the cross post, but I since a Mac and Parallels
was used...

Thanks,

Andre

Andre,

You will have to make sure he is logged on as the
administrator. I
would try to uninstall all of the Norton products on the
computer,
including the one that came with the computer and then
re-install.
Hope this helps.

Norton Removal Tool (if you have problems):

Remove Norton page:

Another place to find out about removal:

The only other way is to hack the registry, but this is not
advised
if you have not done it before.

Best,

Roy
