Dear Colleagues,
The next Security SIG is Thursday, May 25, 150 University
Hall, 10:45-12:15pm.
Topic: New Services and Tools from SNS
Kate Riley (IST-ASD) will talk about the new Restricted Data
Management
(RDM) System, which is currently being pilot-tested. The
RDM will be used
to register all campus restricted data collections and to
identify the
systems that collect or use such data so that SNS can
evaluate the security
of these resources requirements in regards to the Minimum
Security Standards.
Allison Henry (IST-CNS) will present the new Host Security
Bundle, which
includes a range of tools for security management: a
management console for
Symantec; anti-spyware software; Tripwire; event log server,
and PowerGrep,
which scans computers for restricted data.
There will also be a brief review of campus and UC policies
regarding
restricted data.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Chris
