Although they mention the shortest method for patching in
most cases, going
to the latest MRx/MPx version first (if you are not going
directly to 10.1
MP1 first anyway) would also gain you the fixes in those
patches. For
example, doing:
3.1 ("394") --> MP1 ("400")
--> PP1 (using the "401" patch)
rather than
3.1 ("394") --> PP1 (using the
"396" patch)
would allow the MP1 updates to be included in your clients.
Going from "396"
to "400" will not work; you would have to
uninstall first.
