Re: MS express edition

 

I have been using Microsoft VB and C# Express for a GUI design mockup. One thing I noticed is that the "Build" option "Release vs Debug" went away after a couple of days of use. My executable is only build-able in debug and can only be run on the design PC. This may be because I did not register my copy.

I notice that the Microsoft VC Express Edition 2005 is available for
free download.  Can anyone tell me

1) What important features, if any, are missing from this edition
compared to the full edition?

2) Why is Microsoft giving it away?
