Sorting an Attribute Template

Is there a way to alphabetically sort an attribute template
in mm5?  
We have a list of 100 items, associated with 20 products, in
an  
attribute drop-down list and every time we add an item, we
have to  
click the UP arrow seemingly forever to get the item where
it needs  
to be in the list. Why is there no sort function on the
attribute  
template page as there is on the products page?
