But that IS the joke. Today the email lists get turned off.
On April Fools Day a new and improved way of communicating
with the Miva World takes over. I'm laughing so hard, I'm
crying. :-(

I've given up trying to make sense of this. I get an email
that a new post is in the forum to a thread I subscribed to.
I link over to it and the first post is at the top. Then
there are multiple pages of posts. The problem is, I have
read almost all of them so I have to scan through each again
and again to see where I left off. Real fun on a 14K cell
phone connection. Had this been the email list, the only
thing I would have seen is the new emails. Once the delete
key is hit, I don't see that email response again unless I
look in the trash folder. No reading the same text over and
over.

There must be a strong ulterior motive for this action as it
is far less efficient. As I see it, Miva Corp wants to
provide the primary support for their products, which is
very good. They have paid employees to provide that
support. So this channels inquiries into the support system
so they can get what they paid for. A competing user list
would splinter the questions and maybe provide completely
divergent responses. Miva welcomes outsiders to make an
occassional post, but they know this herculean effort will
die out. Even if I had the time to scan each thread over
and over, I don't believe in inefficiency. Miva support
knows where 3rd party module solutions are available, so
they will send folks to mivacentral.com. Miva will provide
timely responses and all will be well. Now I'm smiling.

I find that rather amusing myself...especially this
statement:

"Miva Corp wants to provide the primary support for
their products, which is
very good. They have paid employees to provide that
support."

Reason being, I opened a ticket on behalf of a customer for
support on a CBS
module and was told to contact the developer, as they do not
support third
party modules.

HELLO...the developer is your new VP & General
Manager...you guys OWN the
module and have for a couple years now.

Now I'm being told they only support it for installation
and use with
Dynamic Templates.

HELLO again! It's the OpenUI SuperMod...

Someone over there needs a big damn clue about customer and
partner
relations.
