New Forum-how do they work?

Well, the final minutes is approaching! I would like to take
this
opportunity to say thank you very much to the
"OUI" author, Darren Ehlers,
for helping us to start & stay in this E-Biz. Without
your wonderful OUI &
3rd parties' modules, I wouldn't invest in Miva at all! I
rather stay with
the old brick & mortar fashion! I also would like to
thank you Chuck Lasker
for his devoted tutorials & consulting
(MerchantHowTo.com). I wish you all
best wishes with the new "siteXpansion"

That is a 100%, flat-out, LIE from miva Support (big
shocker).

All it takes is a simple look at the code to realize that
products being
added/removed from the basket are completely handled in the
merchant.mvc and
the features/usl/*.mvc scripts.  Not ONLY does the OpenUI
not affect the
ACTIONS (such as removing a product from the basket), but
the function for
decided what products are available for upsell is:

To be 100% clear (in spite of what Miva
"clueless" Support wants to say, the
upsell functionality of Miva Merchant v4.x is handled
COMPLETELY in the
above listed scripts.  The OpenUI is still just a UI module
that handles
DISPLAYING of the data.  The actual data is
created/modified/manipulated/deleted all by Miva Merchant's
lonesome self.

Anyway, glad to get another post in.  (As I'm sure many
will be happy to
hear) I refuse to create an account in their new
"support" forums.  It would
just cause my blood pressure to boil and I'd end up
spending all of my time
correcting Miva's intentional misstatements and lies...

The amazing thing is that I personally know more about their
product, and I
haven't been able to see the source code for anything since
v4.13.  Maybe if
their support staff weren't trained to
"pass-the-buck" and blame me for
everything, they would actually be able to help people. 
Personally, I'm
tired of doing the job that Miva's Support Staff (and
Development Staff)
SHOULD be doing themselves.
