BASENETS'2006 Call for Papers
http://www.basenets.org
3rd IEEE/CreateNet Intl. Workshop on Broadband Advanced
Sensor
Networks
In Conjunction with BroadNets2006
San Jose, CA
October 1st, 2006
Conference Objectives
=====================
Building on the success of BaseNets 2004 in San Jose and
2005 in Boston,
this workshop is intended for the presentation and
discussion of novel
architectures, algorithms, and applications of sensor
networks based on
the
use of broadband channels. Areas of interest include
problems related to
resource efficiency, dynamic control, and reliability of
broadband
sensor
network deployments, especially under the expected resource
constraints
in
the network. Of particular interest are visions, practical
case studies,
demonstrations or pilots of innovative techniques for
building sensor
networks using either broadband local or metropolitan
wireless networks.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Architectures for Broadband Sensor Networks
* Video and Audio Sensor Networks
* Mobile and Heterogeneous Wired-Wireless Sensor
Networks
* Adaptive Configuration of Broadband Sensor Networks
* Broadband vs. Narrowband Sensing
* Multimedia Interfaces for Wireless Sensors
* Distributed Multimedia Compression/Aggregation for
Broadband
Sensing
* Scalability and Performance Bottlenecks for Wide-Area
Sensing
* Programming Models, Platforms, and Services
* Power and Spectrum Management Issues
* Security and Privacy Issues
* Applications and Case Studies
Important Dates
===============
* Online Paper Registration: May 26th, 2006
* Final Paper Upload: June 2nd, 2006
* Acceptance Notification: July 2nd, 2006
* Final Manuscript Due: August 1st, 2006
Submission
==========
Authors are invited to submit full papers of up to 8 pages
in
