Hello all,
I'm playing around with Mono. I can get assemblies written for 1.1 to run, but I can't get 2.0 assemblies to run. When I tell it to use the 2.0 runtime, I get a message saying that it couldn't load the assembly. This even happens on the standard "Hello World" type of console app with no additional dependencies. I'm running this on Ubuntu Edgy. Has anyone come across this problem?

Have you both profiles of Mono installed? 1.x and 2.0?
As 2.0 is a preview it is possible that it was packaged
separately
and need to be explicitly installed.

On my debian-packaged 0.12-Version it also works great.
But I was having the same problem before and was confused by
the
following statement at:
http://www.monodevelop.com/FAQ#Can_I_compile
_my_project_with_gmcs.3F
"Not currently through MonoDevelop. You could use the
alias command to
set mcs = gmcs, but this is not tested or supported."
afaik one has to use gmcs in order to compile .Net2.0
assemblies.
and i think that's exactly what monodevelop does if you set
the runtime
options to 2.0 instead of 1.1.
Would be great if someone who has an account would correct
the above
