Thread: Problem running monodevelop-0.15 under KDE

Problem running monodevelop-0.15 under KDE

The monodevelop 0.12 that came with openSUSE 10.2 works fine
under
both GNOME and KDE; after adding the Mono repository for
openSUSE
10.2, though, I experienced crashes when running monodevelop
0.15 on
KDE.

I notice, however, that running monodevelop as a different
user works:

surprisingly, as long as su - is used, monodevelop works
(i.e. instead
of anotheruser, it could have been any user, including the
one
currently logged in)

Running monodevelop under GNOME, needless to say, works as
well.

The problem seems to involve GTK, leading me to suspect it's
some
theming problem. GTK-Qt, perhaps?

Would appreciate any help. Meanwhile, I'll just have to su -
to myself
before running MD.

Thanks,

Good guess. Looking at your trace, I see the qtcurve theme
engine,
which has been causing a lot of MD crashes recently. When
you su it
must be using different theme settings.

It will almost certainly be fixed by using another theme
engine; I
suggest a clearlooks-based theme such as Gilouche.
