Thread: Simple monodevelop form

Simple monodevelop form
country flaguser name

I threw together a very simple form.. one button,
thats it. Changed the title to the window to say
something like "Junk Window".. Yet when I
build/run
it, the title is "My Application" (or whatever
the
default is) and my button is not there.

Build question:
When looking at build output I get errors stating
gtk-sharp, gdk-sharp and other *-sharp not
installed/missing yet in yast (SuSE package manager)
it shows up as being installed.

Distro specific:
Anyone using this on SuSE 10.3 x86 64bit? Monodevelop
sigsegv's on me. Its a fresh install of the OS,
mono & monodevelop is installed via yast.

Thanks in advance..looking forward to coding in mono.

-Alex

You must install the gtk-sharp package separately. I suppose
that the openSuSE
guys have simply forgotten to implement the dep monodevelop
-> gtk-sharp.
Also make sure to install gtkhtml-sharp. You'll need it!!

Try to build an up-to-date Mono and MD from SVN. I'm myself
using openSuSE
10.2, but I've already realized that the Mono RPMs supplied
with it are
sometimes terribly out of date.

It should be an automatic dependency, so I'm not sure what's
up. Also,
you only need gtk-sharp2 etc, not gtk-sharp (1), and since
MD runs you
obviously must have it... can you post the actual error? If
your
references are somehow messed up, this might explain the
odd
appearance of the form.

Again, it should be gtkhtml-sharp2... though MD 0.18 no
longer depends
on a web browser of any kind. However, MonoDoc coud
certainly use it.

I find it to be near-perfectly stable on 10.3 x86_64 with
the Mono
packages from the Mono-Project.com website. Please make sure
you have
MD 0.18.1, Mono 1.2.6, and GTK# 2.10.2. If you still get
crashes,
please report the stack traces to us!
