We have our own translation scanner -- it's explained in the
README
file in the po directory.

However, note that the reference catalog is also kept in
SVN
(messages.po), and it and all of the existing translation
catalogs
have been updated and committed for the 1.0 string freeze,
so you
should be able to work with the files from SVN directly
