Instead of `make install`, try `make run`.  That will run MD
directly
out of the build directory.  No need to install every time
you test a
modification.

Heh. Trully.
It turned out it wasn't any conflict with installed
version, but some
problems with the accumulated builds.
make clean solved all problems.

'make run' now works very well for me.
The createmdps.pl script also does a good job of creating
solutions
which are suitable for at least opening the source in md for
editing.
Looking forward to the autotools plugin.
