Hi all,

I've decided not to shut down the list after all. It's low
volume,
but valuable. The issue I was struggling with was the large
amount of
spam that gets posted to the list. Thanks to advice from Jim

Popovitch, though, I've reconfigured the list to just
discard posts
from non-members, rather than holding them for moderation.
This may
cause a few legitimate posts to be discarded, so if anyone
has
problems, please let me know.

Cheers,

Colin

Do you bounce these messages so a legitimate sender would be
notified?

Yes.

The other option is not to bounce, but forward the spam to
me. Then
I'd be able to manually notify the legitimate sender. I'm
slightly
worried about spam that has forged, but valid, From:
headers. We'll
see if it ends up being a problem in practice.
