    If I were to hazard a guess, I would guess that you have
installed 
the extension and forgotten to restart Thunderbird to
activate it. 
(That's what I always do.)

Another possibility is that you did not include yahoo.com
in the 
username, which means that the extension could not determine
which 
domain name to use (there are more than one that use the
same protocol 
as Yahoo if I recall).
